… bringing the Special Libraries Association (SLA) to information professionals across Europe

Resources for New Professionals

If you’re in the first five years of your LIS career, there are some great new resources available to you. The SLA First Five Years Advisory Council have produced a series of webinars on topics of interest to new professionals, including:

  • What is a Special Library?
  • Locating open positions
  • Networking
  • Salary negotiation

There are more presentations planned, so check back regularly on the First Five Years page to see what new content has been added.

If you’re looking to network and discuss ideas with fellow new professionals, why not join the newly launched LIS New Professionals Network (LISNPN)? The network is described as “a place to get help, advice, guidance and information, for people working in the library sector”. It is completely free to join, and is open to information professionals from any sector, background or location. It is based in the UK, but is also open to those outside of the UK.
