SLA Europe’s past president, Kate Arnold, has been named a winner of Dialog’s 2011 Quantum2 InfoStar Awards for the International region, in recognition of her work at Cancer Research UK, and on the boards of SLA and SLA Europe. The award “honours information professionals whose achievements demonstrate leadership and inspire others to act as catalysts for change”. An award was also made to Lars Kjøller of Denmark’s LEO Pharma.
Tim Wahlberg, Senior Vice President and General Manager, ProQuest Corporate Market Solutions, said of the award: “Kate and Lars are doing important work in fields that have real impact on the lives of so many. By demonstrating how effective information services can change lives, these professionals inspire us to innovate, to think bigger and work more diligently.
