Matthias Ammon is currently working as Project Coordinator in the Office of Scholarly Communication at the University of Cambridge, with a particular focus on electronic theses and university-led digital publishing. Having completed a PhD in Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic at the University of Cambridge (where he also gained his BA and MPhil) in 2011, Matthias spent a couple of years in part-time academic jobs before deciding to focus on a career in librarianship. He worked in several libraries across the University of Cambridge and as Learning Resources Administrator in an independent school before taking up his current role in June 2016.
Matthias is currently studying as a part time distance learner for an MA in Information and Library Studies at the University of Aberystwyth and is a certificated member of CILIP. He became involved with SLA after being awarded an Early Career Conference Award co-sponsored by the Science-Technology Division for the 2016 conference in Philadelphia.
