100 years ago, The Representation of the People Act was passed, granting the vote to women. What part did the militant Suffragettes; led by Emmeline Pankhurst; play in bringing this about?
In this the anniversary year for women’s suffrage, our tour visits the key locations in Westminster where the Suffragettes organised and carried out their campaign armed with their famous motto ‘Deeds not Words’. Join our guide, Kirstie Shedden, to discover the stories of the women involved in the struggle for votes for women, their supporters and opponents as we follow in the footsteps of those daring and sometimes controversial figures. We will end the tour with a stop for drinks, questions and networking The tour is strictly limited in size so please book now to avoid disappointment.
Precise meeting details will be emailed in April in advance of the walk.
Tickets include one drink and the event is free to members.
Due to very limited capacity, tickets will be available exclusively to SLA Europe members in March. Any remaining places will be available to non-members in April.
